Born August 25, 1930 in Tbilisi. Dad Nikolai Daneliya was engineer to the railway, and mother Mary Andzhaparidze assistant at "Mosfilm". It was she who instilled son a love of film. The choice of future profession was influenced by George Danelia and family uncle and aunt: Veriko Anjaparidze and Mikheil Chiaureli – the people's artists of the USSR. Danelia did not immediately identify with the future profession. First, he enrolled in architecture school and after, even found a position as architect in a design Institute. But soon the government realized that most of it involves cinema. Therefore, George N. left engineering and entered the directing courses at the Mosfilm.Daneliya graduated from the Moscow Architecture Institute and worked as an architect. In 1956, he entered the Higher Director's Courses at the Mosfilm Studio where his teachers were Mikhail Romm, Sergei Yutkevich, Leonid Trauberg, YuliRaizman, and Mikhail Kalatozov.[1]

Directing courses Georgi Daneliya graduated in 1959. His course work was the short film "Basilius Lokhankin", diploma – film "same people". Even in these two films it becomes clear that the young Director Danelia has a great future.

He was accepted as a stage Director. The first tape was made to respect a young professional.

In 1964, on the screens out the picture of George Danelia "I step through Moscow". The young Director woke up famous.Walking the Streets of Moscow (Russian: ЯшагаюпоМоскве; I walk across Moscow) is a 1963 Soviet film directed by GeorgiyDaneliya and produced by Mosfilmstudios. It stars Nikita Mikhalkov, AlekseiLoktev, EvgeniySteblov and Galina Polskikh.[2]

The film also features cameos by four People's Artists of the USSR: RolanBykov, Vladimir Basov, Lev Durov, and Inna Churikova. The famous movie theme, performed by Mikhalkov, was written by the composer Andrei Petrov. The film, regarded as one of the most characteristic of the Khrushchev Thaw, premiered at the 1964 Cannes Film Festival and won a prize for the work of cameraman, VadimYusov, best known for his subsequent collaboration with Andrei Tarkovsky.

Next year on the screens of the country came the film "Thirty-three". This work Danelia immediately gained a niche new master of domestic Comedy. In addition to a deep satire Georgy Nikolaevich was able to demonstrate the ability grotesque and at the same time very lyrical to reveal the reality. We should highlight the talent of the Director to create a coherent ensemble of very different actors, from different schools and generations. After the release of "Thirty-three" it was decided to use the comic talent of the Director in the satirical magazine "Wick" for which George took a dozen miniatures.

In 1979 I got a wonderful romantic Comedy Danelia's "Autumn marathon".Critics say that this talent of George Danelia – to reveal a famous actor with unknown parties – especially valuable. As his ability to exploit the Comedy elements of melodrama or even drama. This trait of the Director can be traced in "the Autumn marathon" and the films "Mimino" and "Afonya". Here you can laugh from the heart, with bitterness and sometimes with sadness. After the release of this film, the novice Director was clear indigenous traits of talent. As did Georgy, a character on the screen was reflected in the actions of the hero. According to the Director, the movie characters should be remembered by their actions and characters. Critics later wrote: "the government is not afraid of friends of the acting persons, because it is able in terms familiar to catch something completely unexpected, knows how to turn a friend profile, find the angle that reveals the essence of the person or disclosing it in an entirely new way. That's why many actors are so perfectly played in the films Danelia...".

His best film, the Director believes is not as famous as everyone else, "Tears dripped". This picture is a sad version of this fairy tale in a modern way, a rehash of the famous fairy tale about the Snow Queen. The main character is played by Yevgeny Leonov. After contact with eyes shard of the magical mirror he had seen in others many defects that were not noticed before. Here again is a satire, and good humor, and sad laughter through tears.

Critics have noticed that in all the films of Director Danelia there is true acting skills. Already with their first paintings, the Director picked up his cinematic "group". They were Kuravlev, Leonov, Kikabidze, Basilashvili, Gundareva, Volchek, Talyzina, Yakovlev, Lyubshin.

Among Daneliya's most popular movies are Mimino (1977), about a Georgian pilot's adventures in Moscow, and The Autumn Marathon (1979), about a translator vacillating between his wife and mistress. Before the first screening of the film "Mimino" George N. asked about his new job. This question Danelia said, "...My hero, seem to have achieved everything. Great job. Moscow, great position... But like a magnet it draws to itself a small native village, a rural airfield... what is it? Maybe about a person who has not calmed down, was able to return to himself? Maybe the sense of homeland, about this very concrete, tangible area of his native land?". Mimino won the Golden Prize at the 10th Moscow International Film Festival. In 1986 he directed a sci-fi film Kin-dza-dza!.

The film is set in 1980s Moscow. Standing right in the city centre on Kalinin Prospekt, a barefoot man dressed in a tattered coat appeals to anyone with a strange request: "Tell me the number of your planet in the tenture? Or least the number of your galaxy in the spiral?".

Random passers-by, two Soviet citizens previously unknown to each other ("Uncle Vova", a gruff construction foreman from Moscow, Vladimir Mashkov, and a "Violinist", a student from Georgia, GedevanAleksidze), start a conversation with him, during which the stranger shows them an alien teleportation device – "traveller".

The foreman Mashkov holds out his hand to the device and, despite the stranger's warnings, presses a random button. Suddenly Uncle Vova and the violinist find themselves alone on the desert planet "Pluke" in the "Kin-dza-dza" galaxy. From that point on, the movie describes their long quest to find a way back home.

The natives of the planet appear human, with deceptively primitive-looking technology and a barbaric culture, which satirically resembles that of humans. They are telepathic; the only spoken words normally used in their culture are “ku” (koo) and “kyu” (kew), the latter being a swear word. However, the Plukanians are able to quickly adapt to understand and speak Russian (and Georgian too).[3]

The society of Pluke is divided into two categories: Chatlanians and Patsaks. The difference is ascertained only by means of a small handheld device (visator), similar to flash drive in appearance; when pointed at a member of one group, an orange light on the device comes on; when pointed at a member of the other group, a green light comes on.

A good deal of the plot is based on the fact that ordinary wooden matchsticks (ketse) (or, rather, the chemicals of the match head) are considered to be extremely valuable on Pluke.

After finally returning to Earth, Mashkov and Gedevan are going through the same thing as in the beginning, but none of them remember what happened. They are standing at the same place that they first met, and a passing tractor with an orange flashing light reminds them of the ecilops. They both reflexively squat and say, "ku!".

They immediately recognize each other. Uncle Vova, looking at the sky, hears the sound of a song performed by Wef and Bi.

In 1979 I got a wonderful romantic Comedy Danelia's "Autumn marathon".

…….GeorgiyDaneliya In 1976, he was a member of the jury at the 26th Berlin International Film Festival.

For this work the Creator in 1997, he received the State prize of Russia. He also co-wrote the Comedy "Gentlemen of fortune" and Christmas tape "French".[4]

Most of his films featured his then-wife LyubovSokolova, whom the Guinness Book of Records cites as the most prolific film actress,[citation needed] and his friend YevgenyLeonov. Daneliya was named a People's Artist of the USSR in 1990.

Besides working on films at Danelia many other Hobbies. He is interested in music, painting, drawing. Two Academy – national arts and cinematographic "Nika" – chose Daneliya your academician.
